Pandya's magnificent knock ended at 63 off 25, when he smacked a full toss towards leg stump at deep midwicket. The Indian all-rounder hit it hard, but it was picked up by Reeza Hendricks.
India Put Up 231 On The Scoreboard; Tilak & Pandya Stand And Deliver
Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson were the aggressors with the bat at the start as they put up an impactful stand in the power play. Samson smacked 37 off 22, while Abhishek put up 34 off 21 to bring a smashing start.
Tilak Varma brought a power-packed display once again, picking up a 42-ball 73, with ten boundaries and a six. The intent was strong in Varma as he also delivered an aggressive performance in the competition.
While Suryakumar Yadav's lean patch continued, clutch Hardik Pandya walked into bat and lit up Ahmedabad with his sheer performance. a 25-ball 63 had the crowd on it;'s feet as Pandya toyed with the SA batters in the first innings.
Shivem Dube's final over heroics with a boundary and a six helped India raise 231 at the loss of five wickets on the scoreboard.
